Apartment Tour

Apartment Tour
Its the end of November! Holy cow, how is 2018 is almost coming to an end?! I can hardly believe that exactly a year ago we went apartment hunting for what would be our first little home together when we got married [and what would be Zack’s bachelor pad for 6 months before that 😉 ]. The very first apartment we looked at, and the only one we submitted an application for, became ours! A year later (lol), I finally have the whole place pretttty much done & decorated. I have been pushing off this blog post for so long because I have never felt like our place was fully done. But, I’ve come to terms that I will probably never stop buying little shelf decor, adding pillows, switching out the rugs, etc. and that is fine with me! We decorated on a pretty average budget. I wanted a cozy & modern feel in our apartment without it being too much of one or the other. Zack is pretty lax when it comes to decor, but is against anything too furry, feminine or cute. Lol. I stuck with lots of neutrals with a touch of color here & there. We (I) frequented HomeGoods, TJ Maxx & Target (where 80% of our stuff is from). We found great prices on a lot of our furniture & didn’t splurge on too many things — but we also allowed ourselves to spend a little more on pieces that were worth investing in. So lets get started!

Layout

Our entire apartment is a loft-style. You enter in to a staircase that leads you up to a second story where the entire apartment is. It’s a one bedroom / one bathroom cozy little place with a ton of windows that let in a lot of natural light. We are tucked into a cozy little neighborhood in Belmont Shores.

It seats 4, and the bench + stools can be tucked under the table for the most maximal space.

Our bar cart & practically everything on it is from Target or BBB. It is actually turning out to be pretty functional, when I initially thought it would serve more of a decor purpose! It’s business ( coffee + cook books ) on the bottom, and a party on top!

These frames fill up the random wall space we have between the windows and kitchen table.

This braided rope is from our unity ceremony on our wedding day!

Like I said, we wanted a cozy, but modern feel in our apartment. This color scheme is what we found to accomplish that best. Lots of grey, beige + hints of gold. This couch was so affordable & has been such a great purchase.

Our work corner is a perfect little space for Zack on his work-from-home days. This desk was a great buy and this chair is perfect to flip around & use for additional seating when we have friends over!

Kitchen

This kitchen was one of the reasons I fell in love with our little place! The counters are the prettiest sparkly quartz, and I’m a sucker for all white (even when it’s difficult to keep clean!). This farmhouse sink has been so great & functional, it houses many dishes when we don’t feel like putting them away! And of course, we have a whole corner dedicated to our Nespresso + Keurig!
